What are your fees?

At The Mind Clan we try to keep our fees as low as we can and charge significantly less than the fees recommended by the Australian Psychological Society. You can view the APS national schedule of recommended fees here.

For clinical psychology, with a GP referral and mental health care plan, you can expect to pay between $105.00 and $112.00 out of pocket per session for the first 10 medicare rebatable sessions each calendar year.
The full standard 50 minute consultation fee ranges from $210.00 - $260.25 depending on the psychologist and type of service; you will receive between $98.95 - $145.25 back from Medicare.

If you do not have a GP referral and mental health care plan, the full standard 50 minute clinical psychology consultation fee will be charged without a  Medicare rebate.

Our fees vary depending on a several factors including:
Whether you are seeing a counsellor/psychologist/clinical psychologist
Whether you have a mental health care plan and GP referral 
Whether you are claiming through Medicare or via your Private Health Fund/Overseas Student Health Cover
The length of session
Type of therapy (e.g., EMDR are charged at an additional cost)

Question 2

I have a mental health care plan, how does the medicare rebate work?

We provide psychological treatment under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. As such, you may be able to access medicare rebates, for both in person or Telehealth sessions, if you are eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.

Your rebates can be processed by us following your session.

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan, you may have access to:
- 10 rebatable sessions per calendar year

If you have an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan, you may have access to:
- up to 40 rebatable sessions per calender year

If you have a Chronic Disease Management Plan, you may have access to:
- up to 5 rebatable sessions per calendar year

Please note you do not require a GP referral to attend, it is completely up to you whether you would like to see your GP to obtain one as this will help with the costs.

What are the current Medicare rebates?

The current medicare rebate for a 50 minute session with our Clinical Psychologist is $145.25
This means your out of pocket fee will be $95.00 per 50 minute session.

Unfortunately Couples Counselling is not eligible for medicare rebates.
